Book Swap in P2

22nd May 2026

Our Primary 2 class recently enjoyed a very special event - a Book Swap Day!

Each child brought in a book from home that they were ready to pass on to a friend. We talked about how books can go on adventures, just like us, and how sharing stories helps others discover new favourites. The excitement in the classroom was wonderful to see!

The children carefully looked through all the books and made a list of those they thought they would love. There were big smiles when they were given their book.

This activity is part of our ongoing work to build a love of reading and encourage children to explore different stories, authors, and characters. By swapping books, we’re helping children see reading as something fun, social, and full of surprises.

Our book swap also helped us think about being eco-friendly. By reusing and sharing books instead of buying new ones, we are helping to reduce waste and look after our planet. It was a great way for the children to learn that small actions can make a big difference!

We hope the children are enjoying their new books at home. Happy reading, P2!
