Making a Rain Gauge
22nd May 2026
This week, Primary 7 pupils built their own rain gauges as part of their Water topic. They used these gauges to measure rainfall each day, carefully collecting and recording their results using a measuring cylinder.
The children learned how to record their measurements accurately in both millilitres (ml) and litres, developing important skills in reading and using units of measurement. Over the course of ten days, they will use their collected data to create a digital graph, allowing them to analyse rainfall patterns and present their findings visually.
