P2 Visits An Creggan
P2 enjoyed a lovely shared education trip to An Creggan with Orritor PS. Despite the wet weather, the children had a fantastic day exploring and learning together.
We went on a rainy walk along the boardwalk and through the grounds of An Creggan, where we spotted signs of spring and lots of wonderful nature.
At the forest school, the children learned all about the life cycle of a frog. We were even able to see real tadpoles growing in a bathtub, which was very exciting.
The children also took part in a fun science activity. They drew pictures using wax crayons before painting over them with homemade watercolour paint made from red cabbage. Then we added bicarbonate of soda and vinegar, which created a reaction and helped us produce some beautiful pieces of artwork to take home.
We finished our day by enjoying lunch together. It was a great opportunity to learn, explore and spend time with our friends from Orritor PS.
