Rainforest Art Adventures in P2
Today in P2 we continued our Going on an Adventure topic with an art lesson inspired by the rainforest. The children worked very hard and showed great creativity while building their own rainforest scenes.
We began by painting brown tree trunks to create the base of our rainforest. Once the paint had dried, we added texture and depth by using different shades of green tissue paper to make the leafy canopy. The children carefully layered the tissue paper to show the many leaves you might see high up in a rainforest tree.
Next, everyone chose their favourite rainforest animal to include in their artwork. The children practised their fine motor skills by carefully cutting out their chosen animals. After that, they used a variety of paints to bring their animals to life. Some of the children even experimented with mixing colours to create the perfect shades for their creatures.
Finally, we carefully glued the animals onto our rainforest backgrounds, adding another layer to our artwork and making the scenes really come alive.
The class worked incredibly hard throughout the lesson and showed great focus and creativity. The finished pieces turned out wonderfully, and we are very proud of the effort everyone put in.
